Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 14, 2026

Claries (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates claries.ai and the digital services described in this policy. This document explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. It covers our three services: Managed WordPress Hosting, the Claries AI ChatBot plugin, and the Claries AI Platform desktop app. Effective date: June 14, 2026

Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide, secure, and improve our services.

Information you provide directly

  • Email address — used to create your account, authenticate your identity, and send service-related communications.
  • Password — stored as a one-way cryptographic hash. We never store or have access to your plain-text password.

Information collected automatically or through service use

  • Subscription and billing status — received from Stripe after a transaction is completed. Used to manage your plan and entitlements.
  • Payment method details — stored and processed entirely by Stripe. Claries never receives or stores raw card numbers or full payment details.
  • WordPress domain name — recorded when you activate a Claries AI ChatBot premium license. Your license key (format: CLRS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) is bound one-to-one to your domain and validated against our license server at auth.claries.ai.
  • JWT access and refresh tokens — issued at login and used to maintain your session. Stored in your operating system keychain (desktop app) or browser session storage.
  • IP address and server request logs — collected by our infrastructure for security monitoring, abuse prevention, and rate limiting.
  • Cookies and local storage — used on web sessions to keep you signed in and remember your preferences.

What we do not collect

  • Third-party AI API keys (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) — these are stored only on your local machine and are never transmitted to Claries.
  • Visitor data from websites we host — that data belongs to and is controlled by the site owner, not Claries.
  • Sensitive personal data such as government IDs, financial account numbers, or health information.

How We Use Your Information

  • Account management — to create and maintain your account, authenticate logins, and manage your subscription.
  • Service delivery — to provision your hosting plan, validate plugin licenses, and run the Claries AI Platform.
  • Billing — to work with Stripe to process subscription payments and manage renewals or cancellations.
  • Security — to detect abuse, enforce rate limits, and protect our infrastructure and users.
  • Communications — to send transactional emails (receipts, password resets, service notices) and, if you opt in, product updates or announcements.
  • Legal compliance — to meet our obligations under applicable law, including financial record-keeping requirements.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to train AI models.

How We Share Your Information

We share data only with the third parties necessary to operate our services.

  • Stripe — our payment processor. Stripe handles all payment method storage and transaction processing. Stripe Privacy Policy
  • Cloudflare — provides DNS, DDoS protection, and WAF services, including the secure tunnel to auth.claries.ai. Cloudflare Privacy Policy
  • Hosting infrastructure — our license and auth server (auth.claries.ai) runs on servers and databases located in the United States. Data stored there includes account credentials, subscription status, and licensed domain names.
  • Cloud AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) — these providers are only involved when you configure the Claries AI Platform with your own API keys. In that case, your app communicates directly with the provider using your keys. Claries does not send your data to these providers.

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics platforms.

Cookies and Tracking

We use a small number of cookies and browser storage mechanisms — strictly for keeping your session active and your preferences intact. We do not use third-party advertising or behavioral tracking cookies.

  • Session cookies — keep you logged in during a browsing session. Cleared when you close your browser.
  • Persistent login cookies — set only if you choose “Remember me.” Allow your session to persist across browser restarts.
  • Preference storage — local storage may be used to remember UI settings such as theme or language preferences.

You can disable or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so may require you to log in again.

Data Retention

  • Active accounts — your personal data is retained for as long as your account is active.
  • After account deletion — billing and transaction records are retained for up to 7 years to meet financial compliance requirements. All other personal data (email, hashed password, licensed domains) is deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
  • Server logs — IP addresses and request logs are rotated and permanently deleted after 90 days.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights over your personal data, regardless of where you live. To exercise any of them, email us at [email protected].

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion — request that we delete your account and personal data (subject to legal retention obligations described above).
  • Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Opt out of marketing — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting support. Transactional emails (receipts, security notices) are not affected.

California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information. To submit a CCPA request, contact [email protected].

EU and EEA residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our legal basis for processing your data is contract performance (to deliver the services you signed up for) and legitimate interests (security and fraud prevention). To submit a GDPR request, contact [email protected].

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a prominent notice on our website before the change takes effect. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
